From our practice · EDU Week 2026
54 teachers tried a new role in three cities.
For EDU Week 2026, we prepared and led the four-hour From Teacher to Guide workshop. A total of 54 teachers took part in Vrchlabí, Mladá Boleslav and Pardubice.
The workshop was one of EDU Week's three main in-person themes. Taťána Beránková Císařová guided participants through their experience, strengths and ways to use them in teaching. A teaching handbook gave them something to return to afterwards.
From a personal perspective to possibilities in teaching
Each part combined personal experience with an analysis of the method used. Teachers could consider both the content and how to guide similar work with their students.
Recognise what you bring
Participants identified their strengths, interests and what matters to them. They compared their own perspective with responses from people around them and shared what surprised them.
Find applications at school
Using the ikigai model, they connected personal purpose, abilities and others' needs. In groups of four, they explored concrete ways to use their experience at school.
Reflect on the guide's role
They returned to what they wanted to keep, let go of or add to their teaching repertoire. The workshop closed with shared reflection and written messages.
From the workshop to future lessons
We prepared a presentation and the From Teacher to Guide teaching handbook. It combines worksheets with descriptions of the methods, their aims and steps. It provides space for personal notes and material for lesson preparation.

The workshop was part of EDU Week 2026, supported by Škoda Auto, Škoda Academy and Škoda Auto University. The event review (in Czech) explores the changing role of teachers and Taťána Beránková Císařová’s perspective; the organiser’s reflections (in Czech) also capture the atmosphere.

“A great workshop. Thank you. A lovely way to get ready for the new school year.”
Anonymous workshop feedback, EDU Week 2026 (translated from Czech)
Participants appreciated the clear presentation, personal guidance and preparation for the new school year. One message also noted that four hours leave limited time for the activities; longer formats allow more depth.
“You live your ikigai — we can feel it.”
