Twenty years of bespoke system development.
We built a bespoke business system on ORIGAM for a leading food manufacturer in Czechia. For twenty years, we have developed it together to reflect how the company works and where it is heading.
Larger operations needed a new system.
With a new factory, the company outgrew its original software. It needed a system that could handle larger operations, fit its workflows and support further development.
We chose ORIGAM's model-driven approach. It allowed us to capture how the business works and build on that knowledge as the underlying technology changed.
One system. Twenty years of ongoing development.
A complete bespoke ERP
Sales, invoicing, logistics, warehousing and production. We designed each part around the company's work and connected them in a single business system.
Three technology rewrites
The system has undergone three technology rewrites during our collaboration. Each time, we built on the knowledge of business processes captured in its model.
New needs, new features
Alongside the technology rewrites, we keep extending the system’s functionality. Its development follows what the company needs to manage in day-to-day operations.
What enables long-term development
Technology changes. Knowledge of the business stays.
In ORIGAM, we describe the company’s data, rules and workflows in a model from which the platform creates the application. This approach is called MDA — model-driven architecture. It separates the description of how the business works from the technology running its system.
This allowed us to change the ERP’s underlying technology while adding new features. The operational knowledge we gained throughout the collaboration continues to guide further development.
The next stage of collaboration
The next stage: production and warehouse automation.
In recent years, the company has invested in production and warehouse robotics. Our ERP work supports this change: we contribute to production automation and connect the business system to the WMS, the warehouse management system.
