Entrepreneurship Day

From personal strengths to solving a real problem

Your students experience finding their own way to tackle a real problem. In one day, they try making decisions as a team and presenting their own proposal. You gain a shared class experience to build on in your teaching.

  • Jointly led by an entrepreneur and a secondary-school teacher.
  • An individual topic, conversations with people and teamwork.
  • A standalone programme for your school.

The day's programme

From a personal topic to an initial solution.

Seven teaching periods plus breaks. We adapt the schedule to your school; students alternate individual work with teams of up to five.

  1. Find a topic and problem

Students identify their strengths and interests using Ikigai. They choose a problem to work on and form teams.

  2. Test it with people

Teams prepare interviews to find out who experiences the problem and how they deal with it today. Based on the answers, they adjust their assumptions or change direction.

  3. Design and present a solution

Through brainwriting, they develop ideas, choose a solution and record it in a Super Lean Canvas. They receive feedback and identify the next step in reflection.

What students take away

Their own proposal and experience of collaboration

During the day, we test the problem. Testing the solution itself is a next step you can take with your class.

A concrete output

An overview of the problem, customer and initial solution in a Super Lean Canvas, supported by interview findings.

Experience to build on in teaching

Students try contributing to a team's work and adjusting their ideas in response to what they find. In their next task, you can return to what helped them agree, make decisions and move their proposal forward.

Tools in practice

What students will reinforce

Students use the tools on their own topic. No prior knowledge is needed; this first encounter provides a basic experience you can build on in teaching.

Four connected areas of personal purpose and contribution.

Ikigai

They connect their interests and strengths with where they can be useful to others.

A cycle of assumption, testing and adjustment based on findings.

Validation interview

They prepare questions and compare their assumptions with what people actually experience.

Sheets of ideas passed between team members.

Brainwriting

They involve everyone in generating ideas and build on their classmates' suggestions.

An overview of the problem, customer and initial solution.

Super Lean Canvas

They capture the problem, customer and proposed solution in one overview.

Your role and preparation

We lead the day. We agree the facilities with you.

Your teacher does not lead the programme. They can observe when students work independently and when they need support. Students' proposals and final reflection provide concrete starting points for further work with the class.

What we provide

  • An entrepreneur for consultation and feedback from practice.
  • A secondary-school teacher to lead activities and reflection.
  • Work materials for students and the accompanying teacher.

What the school needs to provide

  • Agree the class, date and a room with a board or flipchart and space for teams.
  • Ideally assign the “My Inner Resources” worksheet beforehand. Students without it can still participate.
  • Provide teacher supervision and arrange interviews at school or in the field.

Questions before booking

Which classes is the programme suitable for?

The programme is for secondary-school students, not only second years. Tell us the year group, school focus and your expectations. We will discuss suitability for your class together.

What if students do not want to start a business or have no idea of their own?

They do not need their own idea or plans to start a business. They find a topic during the day based on their interests. Asking people questions, collaborating and explaining decisions are useful beyond business too.

Do students have to leave the school for interviews?

Not always. Depending on the topic, they can speak to people at school during a break or in the field. We agree arrangements and teacher supervision in advance; what matters is speaking to people affected by the chosen problem.

Do I need business knowledge and have to lead activities as a teacher?

Our entrepreneur and secondary-school teacher lead the activities; we do not expect business experience from you. We agree class preparation, facilities and supervision with you. During the day, you can observe students and gather teaching ideas.

Does the day commit us to another programme or competition?

No. You can book Entrepreneurship Day on its own. You can continue the proposals in your teaching; if you are interested in connecting it with MŮŽEŠ PODNIKAT and JA Pilot, we can discuss Path to Entrepreneurship.

    Path to Entrepreneurship

More time to develop an idea and support for teams' further work. Path to Entrepreneurship for second-year secondary students connects this day with a MŮŽEŠ PODNIKAT seminar and the JA Pilot competition. If you take the day separately, we can discuss follow-on options.
