When the supplied data is not enough, we keep looking.

Germania airline needed to transfer ticket data to a new system. During the work, we found errors and gaps in the supplied data. We found a way to retrieve the information directly from the original application.

The original brief

The supplied data was missing essential information.

The move to the Amadeus reservation system required transferring ticket data from the existing system. Within the first few hours, we found that the supplied data was incomplete and contained errors. The prepared method for retrieving it automatically was unreliable too.

The resulting solution

We retrieved the data through another route.

We turned to the part of the original application its users worked with to handle tickets. We built a tool to retrieve the data automatically from there. At the same time, we tested its further processing in an application built on ORIGAM.

Working with the actual data changed our approach. The goal stayed the same — obtaining the information needed for migration. We adapted how we accessed it to what we discovered during the work.

The client was impressed by how our application connected information across systems and commissioned further work. We followed up with automated data transfers from Amadeus, bringing the information into one place and providing sales monitoring reports.
